When to use Compress Video

Use this tool when a video is too large to upload, email, or share. It’s best when you can accept a small drop in quality in exchange for a much smaller file. Limitation: lowering bitrate too far can make motion look blocky—try reducing gradually and use the “Estimated size” as a guide.

Example 1

Hit an upload size limit

Input

meeting.mp4
~220 MB

Output

meeting-compressed.mp4
Bitrate lowered to target ~80 MB
Example 2

Keep it decent for social

Input

clip.mov
High bitrate

Output

clip-compressed.webm (best available)
Bitrate 2500–3500 kbps
