When to use Crop / Resize Video

Use this tool when you need a specific aspect ratio for a platform—16:9 for YouTube, 9:16 for TikTok/Reels/Shorts, or 1:1 for feeds. It’s best for reframing a clip quickly and exporting a resized version. Limitation: exporting can take time on long videos, and the output is WebM (great for web and many editors, but not every app).

Example 1

Make a vertical version for Shorts

Input

landscape.mp4
1920 × 1080

Output

vertical.webm
Aspect: 9:16, Width: 720
Example 2

Square crop for a feed post

Input

clip.mov
Original aspect

Output

clip-square.webm
Aspect: 1:1, Width: 720
