How ToolPanda works

ToolPanda is a collection of simple tools for everyday files—images, videos, PDFs, and text. This page explains what “local processing” actually means, what gets saved (and what doesn’t), and why a tool might behave differently across devices.

Local processing (your files stay on your device)

Most ToolPanda tools run directly in your browser. That means when you upload a file to a tool, it’s read by your browser and processed on your device (laptop/phone), not on a ToolPanda server.

Quick rule of thumb: if a tool has a “Choose file” button, the file is typically processed locally in the page. Downloads are generated by your browser, then saved to your device.

Why some tools feel faster (and others don’t)

“Local” also means performance depends on your device. A modern desktop can compress a video quickly, while an older phone may take longer or run out of memory on large files.

Big files = more memory

4K videos and large PDFs can push browser memory. If a tool stalls, try a smaller file, close other tabs, or use a desktop browser.

Your browser matters

Chrome/Edge/Firefox generally behave best for heavy media tasks. If something is glitchy, try another browser before assuming the file is “broken.”

Cookies, analytics, and ads

ToolPanda may use cookies for measurement and advertising. This helps us understand what tools people use and keep the site running. For specifics, see the Privacy Policy.
